Project "Aqua"

Fun With Water

All shot were taken at 55mm: 1/125secs: f/5.6: ISO100 :Shutter-Priority A-E: Flash Fired.(Lens set to Manual Focus- MF)

This is one fun and easy project/experiment to do at home, all you need is a kitchen sink and a camera of course. A little patience and lots of success-to-fail ratio at first, so don't be afraid of taking lots of shots. As you can see you will get all kinds of weird and wonderful results with the water forming odd shapes as it breaks the water's surface.Timing is crucial, releasing the shutter before it hits the surface produced best results, but its impossible to produced the same result twice, water appearance and color can be alter by introducing different colored backdrops.

The experts will advised using a tripod and using an aperture-priority at f/16 and a shutter speed of at least 1/200secs using high ISO or flash. But as you can see experiment with what works best for you (I took mine handheld), I used what I think was right at the time and I've got my own results which is very satisfying, though could have been better if my photoshop skills is better. So give it a try!

Reminder:
When you're done, make sure there is no dripping from the tap to prevent the 55M BND unpaid water bills from piling-up.
